First Baptist Church (SBC) in Bluffton, SC is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor of Discipleship.
The primary responsibilities of the Associate Pastor are:
Develop and maintain adult discipleship ministries within the church.
Areas of responsibilities include but not limited to:
Sunday School Ministry
Community Life Group Ministry
Develop and maintain assimilation strategy and new member training
Work with the Children’s Ministry Director and Student Ministry Director (pastor) to develop and maintain a church wide discipleship strategy
Additional responsibilities of the Associate Pastor but not limited to the following are:
Assist the Senior Pastor with hospital and nursing home visitation
Assist the Senior Pastor in visitor follow-up
Work with the Senior Pastor, Children’s Ministry Director, Student Ministry Director (pastor) and Worship Leader to develop and evaluate ongoing ministries in the church to ensure effectiveness and continuity among ministries.
Assist the pastor with counseling, weddings and funerals as needed
Assist the Senior Pastor in missions and outreach endeavors
The Associate Pastor will work with the Children’s Ministry Director and Student Ministry Director (pastor) to prepare and equip parents for their task of being the primary spiritual leaders of their children.
The Associate Pastor will work closely with the Senior Pastor in carrying out the ministry and mission of the church.
Requirement: A candidate for the position of Associate Pastor must be a mature Christian with an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. The position must be filled by someone who has strong interpersonal skills including working well with the staff and other members of the ministry team. This position is to be filled by someone who has a Bachelor’s Degree and/or ministry related experience.
Compensation: Based on experience.
